Founded in 1976 as Industrial Hose & Hydraulics Ltd. in Hamilton, Ontario, the company quickly expanded into Niagara, opening a location at 115 Cushman Road in St. Catharines by 1982. Over the decades, Seaway Fluid Power evolved into a leading provider of hydraulic hoses, pneumatic systems, compressed air solutions, hydraulic components, fittings, custom systems, and industrial support services throughout the region and beyond.
In 2004, operations moved to the company’s larger facility at 11 Cushman Road, allowing Seaway Fluid Power to expand its services, inventory, hose assembly testing capabilities, and compressed air expertise. Through strategic growth and acquisitions, the company continued building a reputation for hands-on service and technical knowledge in industries including manufacturing, construction, marine, mining, oilfield, agriculture, food production, and heavy equipment.
Today, Seaway Fluid Power remains deeply connected to the industrial heartbeat of Niagara; a region shaped by manufacturing, transportation, and the legacy of the Welland Canal. The Niagara Region has long played an important role in Ontario’s industrial economy, with St. Catharines and surrounding communities serving as hubs for skilled trades, industrial operations, shipping, and manufacturing growth.
While the temporary relocation to Bunting Road allowed operations to continue serving customers without interruption, the announcement of a return to Cushman Road represents something larger than a change of address.
